English singer-songwriter Sam Smith is bringing back another emotional and dramatic anthem to our lives and the world must be ready for it.
The GRAMMY-winner plans to release his awaited new song called “Writing’s On the Wall” on 28 September 2015 as the main theme of upcoming action film Spectre.
It will be the twenty-fourth James Bond film produced by Eon Productions, and it features Daniel Craig in his fourth performance as the main character. About the song Smith said:
This is one of the highlights of my career. I am honoured to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it
“Writing’s On the Wall” was witten by Smith with Jimmy Napes, who also produced it with the collaboration of Disclosure.
The song was premiered on The Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw on September 25th, and it’s a classic Bond’s theme which is creating a dramatic orchestral pop atmosphere all over the production. The instrumental reminds me somehow to Conchita’s Eurovision winner song “Rise Like a Phoenix“, isn’t it?
Another great result and he hasn’t disappointed, maybe another Academy Award in the way for this Spectre theme?
