This has been quite some summer, and it's not over. Obviously, we're not talking about the British weather here but the kaleidoscope of aspects that has already produced some never-to-be-forgotten events. On Monday, we have the equivalent of a perfect storm: a full moon, Mercury opposed to Neptune and, last but not least, the Saturn-Uranus opposition. Not exactly a recipe for unbridled joy but when did having to change our ways ever raise a smile. If there is one key to unlocking the secret of success with these influences it rests in our being flexible, philosophical and treating our fellow man as we would ourselves. We may not be able to change other people's thinking but we can change our own.
Keep your schedule as light as possible because it looks as though you're going to need all your stores of energy and wisdom. Mars, your ruler, hooks up to Uranus and Saturn piling on the pressure and putting you in the hot seat. When your focus is not as it should be you should avoid handling delicate situations and you must resist sending anything down the waste disposal chute in a fit of frustration. The plus side to these volatile influences is that you can launch an endeavour that has taken many moons to prepare or you may find that a project that has been in the sidings for months suddenly gets back on track. Welcome to August!
These stars require your patient methodical approach so if you wake up on Monday morning with a funny feeling in your tummy start getting your ducks in a row. This is the kind of setting in which events turn out so brilliantly you'll be telling the grandchildren about it in years to come but it is also a time when situations that have built-in cracks crumble into dust. Maybe you are tired of trying to keep something together so the fact that it can no longer continue could be a welcome release. On the other hand, if events don't exactly warm the cockles of your heart, remind yourself that today's disappointment is the bridge to tomorrow's success.
It's all in the spin.
Full moons can be lovely to look at but they serve as a reminder that travel and communications may well be a source of frustration. So, especially on Monday, if you're making a journey or heading into a meeting, allow yourself plenty of time and have a back-up plan. You may not need it but you'll have upped your comfort level. As you may know, any one astrological factor has a plus and minus effect so although you may meet with a roadblock of some description this week it is equally possible that you'll reach your objective and experience a great sense of achievement and happiness.
Taking the rough with the smooth.
Having the right mind-set is all-important this week. First, you need to assume that if you want anything done you're going to have to do it yourself - and when you do get in motion there will be obstructions and distractions. Second, some people, not necessarily through a fault of their own, may have to pull out of an existing arrangement. Therefore, be a little more relaxed about your plans and if an event has to change at the last moment, consider the advantages this produces. (It's the old glass-half-full syndrome.) Not that there aren't some pluses to be had and, thanks to Jupiter, there could be some very happy endings in store.
Making it work.
A full moon opening to the week brings a situation full circle. It may be that events over the weekend already had the effect of bringing the curtain down so Monday represents the beginning of a new act, so to speak. There are many positive factors about the current astro-scape but consistency and constancy aren't among them: you'll get variety and change, the unexpected and unusual. Should you be travelling there could be some interesting detours and don't be surprised if someone you could have banked on performs something of a U-turn. If you have the time and the choice, take that leap in the dark you've been dreaming about.
No time for second thoughts.
This is not your average week. Even though your plans may be in perfect shape and you yourself the picture of serenity, other people could be running around in ever decreasing circles. That's what Mars-Uranus aspects do: they kick off mini-earthquakes with the intention of reshaping some part of your existence. Now, if this is indeed your lot for now, try not to focus on what can no longer be but on what is to come, which could be very heart-warming. And in the event that you are on the receiving end of a beautiful surprise, do your best not to crow about it. Friends and enemies are easily made in these times.
Never before; never again.
If you haven't yet experienced the Jupiter-Uranus syndrome you've got an excellent chance of doing so this week. Since the effect this fascinating double act like to produce is shock and awe there is rarely any way of preparing in advance for events. But you could begin by throwing out all your preconceived opinions as to how the world works. Partnerships and other people are likely to be the source of controversial developments and, even in a minor way, someone could reveal a very different side of himself or herself. You may even surprise yourself by making a move that raises an eyebrow or two. Final point: in this zany climate love either sizzles or fizzles.
A roller-coaster ride.
Scorpios are not renowned for taking risks. Well, at least not with life and limb. Your passions may drive you into inappropriate liaisons and you have the courage to burn your bridges when necessary but you rarely do anything without a degree of thought. So, why change the habit of a lifetime now? The astrology is throbbing with change and the unprecedented, and it could propel even you into an action you could come to regret. Give a situation just a little more time before you press the detonator. Another tip for reaching the end of the week with all your assets in hand is to remain tolerant and good-humoured, regardless of the provocation.
You'll have to play against type, by which I mean you'll have to set aside your fearless, forthright self and plead the fifth amendment when confronted with a difficult choice. Monday is the day you'll need all your stores of patience, philosophy and tact but as a general rule of thumb gear up for a week when little goes according to plan. Perhaps you overlooked a detail or forgot a piece of information; on the other hand, maybe someone else failed to act appropriately. However inconveniences come about keep a sense of proportion. Deep down you probably already knew that something wasn't in perfect shape, and, at the very least, a rain check serves a purpose.
It's one of those weeks that starts off in a blaze of glory and each day thereafter gets hotter and hotter. Hopefully, this means you're at the centre of some very exciting developments that open up all sorts of possibilities for you but if you're one of the Capricorn crew for whom a situation is definitely too hot to handle, don't feel discriminated against. Saturn and Uranus are doing their combined best to show you where your energies are wasted and where they could be more usefully employed. And in most cases this requires adopting a new and very different approach. It's no use consulting the rule book - times have changed.
Getting with the programme.
As full moons go, this is one of the more spectacular. It is in your sign thereby enabling you to harness your will to your emotions with the intention of achieving a formidable outcome. Not every Aquarian is on the crest of a major life change but this is a period in which you will tend to feel events more acutely - the good will be over-the-top fantastic, and the bad will be high on the scale of painful lessons. It is the right time to reach an important decision but the wrong time to make a move out of anger or frustration. A clear head is needed to see the positive way forward and even if you are happier than ever actions still require thought.
You're at an interesting point in the year. More than one situation is done and dusted and already you may have started a new endeavour; nonetheless, it seems something requires reappraisal. It could be that a flaw is revealed which needs correcting or that you yourself are having second thoughts. Either way, avoidance is not an option. Circumstances beyond your control could affect your timetable and whatever your expectations of events they may turn out very differently. This does not mean they'll be bad, of course - just different. Your best bet is to give other people a long leash: that way they'll tie themselves up in knots and you'll be in the clear.
