People ask me why I make games like this-- and the interesting thing is that I don't know. Sometimes, I just have a story to tell. Sometimes, it's about me. Sometimes, it's about you... "Masochisia" is a deeply personal project for me that was designed with one ultimate purpose in mind, to make the player question something. Themselves, their moral compass, their sanity, what is justifiable, what is not... The question isn't important. But asking the questions? That is what's important...

所以说是一个很私人的游戏,他本人也没有做下一步作品的打算。

2. 玩过的恐怖类游戏,大约有以下几种: * 以《F.E.A.R》《Dead space》《Resident evil》为代表的杀怪FPS恐怖游戏。这一类游戏我不太喜欢,jumpscare的套路太过频繁显得无趣。而且主角会不停的死而复生,让游戏体验大打折扣。 * 以《Outlast》《Silent hill》《Amnesia》为代表的氛围恐怖游戏。这一类游戏现在算得上是主流,个人也很喜欢。 * 以《Cat lady》《Fran bow》为代表的独立恐怖解密类游戏。这类风格的游戏越来越多,因为相对于第二类制作成本低了很多。最近很受欢迎,但这两款作品恰恰我都非常讨厌。原因在于很讨巧,用恐怖(实际上也不是恐怖,是恐怖的画风)去包裹一个鸡汤故事。 * 这款游戏算得上是第三类,严格来说不太像是游戏,更像是一部交互式的恐怖电影,你扮演的是最迷人的那个坏人。

3.游戏开始时写道‘Based on a true stroy’. 这个true story的主人公叫Albert fish,也就是游戏中的Gray Man。他的照片可能很多人都会熟悉:

他本人的故事可以从wikipedia上看,太过传奇以至于可以令开一篇。简要概括就是父亲比母亲大43岁,家族精神病史,幻觉缠身,从小受虐待,逐渐有了施虐倾向。后来成年之后自认为收到上帝的指示,需要去杀害儿童。他个人常用的工具,自己称之为“implements of hell”,包括一把菜刀,一把小刀,一把手锯。这三样道具游戏中有着很直接的体现。总之他的一生,不停的勾引儿童,(性)虐待儿童,杀害儿童,(吃掉儿童)。他本人的受虐倾向也非常明显,会给自己的阴部扎针。在医院检查时发现骨盆上埋入了29根针。这一细节在游戏中也有体现,不过被大大弱化了。后来Fish给一名受害人家长写了封信,事迹败露,才被世人所知。信的节选:

When she saw me all naked she began to cry and tried to run down stairs. I grabbed her and she said she would tell her mama. First I stripped her naked. How she did kick – bite and scratch. I choked her to death then cut her in small pieces so I could take my meat to my rooms, cook and eat it. How sweet and tender her little ass was roasted in the oven. It took me 9 days to eat her entire body. I did not fuck her, though, I could of had I wished. She died a virgin.

4.回归主题,是这个游戏的彩蛋。一遍玩下来,最直观的彩蛋是游戏中层出不穷的十六进制码。很容易猜到这就是ascii码的十六进制形式:

游戏正中央是46 49 53 48,对应的英文是FISH,可以说这款游戏就是oldblood给Albert Fish的情书了。右上角和左上角分别可以换算成时间,18700519-19341213是Fish本人的出生日期以及死亡日期。

code

这一串数字是本作的关键,因为这是进入shrine的口令,与密室的密码也有关。个人特别喜欢得到这个密码的方式——在质问疯掉的母亲时,母亲告诉你答案在时间中。然后会发现楼下的钟是坏的,时针在四个整点之间反复移动,也就是所谓的密码。上图中的口令是DEAD。

此外,这个游戏中使用很多‘倒序音频’——还记得将‘stairway to heaven’倒放就变成了撒旦之歌么?游戏中一直听到的恶魔低语也是倒放过的,原文是:

You have come to me. Now you must obey. We are the messengers. The powers. The hands. Find your force. Or high your voice.

最后,如果你是用windows运行的游戏,那么桌面上会有三封加密了的信:

Hello friend, Who am I? I'm your friend. You remember me, don't you? You have been playing my game. Discovering my story. I'm so glad that you are interested in learning about me. I'm very keen to learn more about you as well. I decide to take time to write this letter to you because I want you to know that-- I am watching you play this and-- I'm wondering... Hello again. It's I. Your friend. I see you have completed the 3rd act of my story. I have to say, I am a bit surprising about what you have done. You know, murdering father. You see, the angel -- he never actually told you what message to deliver. He left that up to you. Did you have to kill him? Maybe. Maybe not. But it seems, you have no issues finding the words to say. Tell me friend, was it easy to justify? Is it okay to viotimize and kill when death feels so.. well deserved? So-- justifiable... It must a wonderful feeling to have the power and knowledge to determine which lives are worth saving or which one deserves death. You must feel like a god... Hamilton. -------------------- Hello friend. It would appear that you completed my story... ... Or, Have you? Well, you have played as far as you are able to. Did you enjoy my "game"? No? Well.. It's not for everyone. I could tell you had mixed feelings about what you did... Understandable I suppose. But I suppose our time is done for now. Perhaps you will never hear from me again? 这些信也许会显得有些幼稚,但是也感受到了作者十足的真诚。当然,还有拘谨以及腼腆。
