断断续续读了一年多才读完,还得感谢猪流感的蔓延,让我重新翻开它,跟“The Stranger”比起来,这本书实在太枯燥了,一直以为下一章会有点转折,可是翻到最后一页,即便故事情节已经有转折,书里透出的重重麻木情绪还是教人异常困倦。

正值疫情期间读这本书,心里一直很压抑。疫情期间人们心里的绝望和孤独展露无遗,和当前状况一样。不知道疫情何时休止,正如书里所说所有人只能抱着回忆和渺茫的希望支撑下去,希望生活能在不久后回到正轨。

原来是在写人的选择:是选择追求那些从人们身上可以获取的——比如爱——还是选择追求某种超越人自身的东西(成为圣人?获得平静?)。瘟疫成了一种隐喻。喻体是什么呢?是分离、孤独、死亡的的缘由。

读的仍是薄荷阅读的英文原版,应该说,本书没有太过激烈的言辞,只是作为一个事件的亲历者、讲述者娓娓道来,但对于刚刚经历疫情的我们来说,基本上每一个环节都会引起共鸣,当然,书籍远远不及现实精彩。另外,读书读的有些仓促,关于鼠疫影射法西斯的解读(作者自述),还未理解,也许以后有机会再读、再对照,才能明白。
