Just finished “Love, Simon”’s original novel: Simon vs. The Homo Sapiens Agenda.

The film is an echo of last year’s Call Me By Your Name. But the difference is that it features the teenager coming-out and love story, like a gay version of High School Musical.

What I like the most is that Simon gets to know his boyfriend online, not by social media. Actually, they only write each other via Email. It is their regular mail exchange that makes them encouraged to come out to their parents, and in the same way, they are becoming increasingly close and intimate. Finally, they meet in person.

The plot makes it normal to see gay teenagers having a crush on another soul, kiss and love. For homosexual youths, it’s a great reference for their lives.

Another thing I like is the arrangement of my version of this novel. It includes the novel itself, an excerpt from the screenplay for the film, and an interview of the film crew. In this case, I get the chance to taste the work in different angles.

Well, just can’t wait to enjoy the film adaptation.
