In the introduction of the book, a large number of thanks are given to all the great mothers for their painful and unselfish devotion to their kids. Even during the hardest time, the tremendous love makes them unstoppable to bring their children up no matter how sacrifice mothers have to pay.
One of the leading wonderful characters is called Mrs.Lu, the mother of eight kids and the grandmother of eight children. What moves me perfectly is that she secretly ate quite a few beans at the workplace and then when she came back home beans were poured down from her stomach, which she was pretty proud of because her little daughter and grandson got saved while her body became weaker and weaker.Actually when I read this part , I totally wanted to cry out for her motherly passion and behaviour.
No one dares to doubt that Mrs.Lu is a parent who deserves to be praised and an outstanding model of Chinese mothers.Still there are some things worthy our meditation. For example, her precious son was always given all her love and best things while the little poor girl was often ignored even without food or clothes. It’s an undoubted truth that girls or women in ancient and early modern China are deeply underprivileged even treated terribly by the same kind. However, boys or men are the golds and the creature who can keep the lives of the same blood going on.How ridiculous these thoughts are!
As a modern girl, I refuse to think that these unbeliveable ideas have disappered. What is worst is that maybe these opinions still root in the mind of girls, preventing them from achieving their value and success.
The mother's incomparable devotion and sacrifice are worthy respected while we still consciously become a real person, not just a machine to give birth to babies.
