人性本恶?Cuz No One Is Innocent!

In A Good Man Is Hard to Find, O’Connor tested human nature with death in a family, in which the members were all flat characters who only cared about themselves. Take the grandchildren for instance: John and June were irreverent to their elders. They mocked their grandmother and even beat their father when their requirements were not satisfied. Their defiance came from the spoiling of their parents who were indifferent to the grandmother’s any request. Had they adopted the suggestion of the old woman to come back to Tennessee, they would not have been killed. Aside from the family, Misfit and his accomplices are also worth our attention. The accomplices were two boys, but they were so callous, unsympathetic and inhuman that they shot people as if the latter were animals. Misfit, the notorious cold-blooded criminal, continued to serve the devil after he broke prison. When the grandmother was persuading him to convert to goodness, he was nearly moved at some particular moment, which could be observed from the last three lines in the article: when Bobby Lee laughed at the dead woman, Misfit asked him to shut up. However, the justice failed to overcome the evil, and the criminal could never stop killing once it began.
