David Der-wei Wang's academic writing is always fascinating, not only because of his prodigious command of literary texts and expert using of various theories, but also his stunning Chinese writing .
Opening this book, L'archeologie du Savoir(or The Archaeology of Knowledge), however, you might be reading with admiration that his translation is neck and neck with his writing.
I bought this book in Taipei this summer.David's most academic books have come out in mainland China, so I wonder why publishing houses have not introduced and published this version.
David's two prefaces in the book are so valuable. They outline the growth and transformation of Foucault's thinking.
I regard it as the canon of translation.
