The Great Harlot —— Venus

- 章节名:The Great Harlot —— Venus
We discover ourselves through reflecting upon what we love and find beautiful, because the object of desire is a hook for the projection of what is of greatest beauty and highest value within oneself. I think you can see why Venus is not really concerned with relationships per se, but rather within selfidentification through relationships. There is a very beautiful passage in Plato's Phaedro, where he speaks of seeing mirrored in the face of one's beloved a glimpse of the god to whom one's soul belonging. This is the most profound meaning of Venus — the beloved, be it person, object or intellectual ideal, as the mirror of one's own soul.
