Rationality in Action 评价人数不足
读书笔记 1

The thesis that there are no desire-independent reasons for action, that there are no external reason, is logically closely related to Hume’s doctrine that one cannot derive an “ought” from an “is.” ...... Hume says, in effect, we cannot get values from facts; Williams says we cannot get motivations from external facts by themselves. The point of connection lies in the fact that the acceptance of a value is the acceptance of a motivation.
